Žygimantas Kudirka is an author and performer who creates in the field of interactive poetry, artificial language and avant-garde rap. In his creative work, the artist aims to discover a universal dialect that could be understood by plants, animals, babies and all future links in the evolutionary chain. Kudirka’s contribution to the Open Gallery is a neon wall-mounted installation that the artist himself will be able to see through the windows of his own future home. The sentence glows in a white, heavenly colour – a sign of a future that is not inhuman and technocratic but rather utopian and even nostalgic. While the sons of the nation draw strength from the past, this winner of countless festivals and awards offers an alternative perspective that gives us roots in a future towards which we can cruise with hope.
