Jolita Puleikytė-ONline is an intensively creating young generation artist from Šiauliai, since 2012. organized solo exhibitions both in his hometown and in the capital and other Lithuanian cities and in Liverpool (Great Britain). The creator, who has a distinctive style, stands out with his bright and characteristic works, in which the creator’s subconscious and intuitive desire to look deeper often leads to the starry cacti desert.

The artist’s latest work is no exception – “People tend to go to the desert”, in which wandering through the desert becomes a metaphor that reflects a certain inner state of change. The journey to where there is almost no life turns into a ritual of purification of the soul.

In the work, the traveler enters a phantasmagoric world. The bright colors surrounding it seem to bridge the subconscious. There are few colors in the real desert, but when you travel metaphorically, you also have to face illusions, fantasies, visions that awaken the stalled soul. In both Christianity and human life, the desert is a symbol of transformation, search, and conversion. Only here, the stars that have emerged in the dark night become the only landmark and source of hope for the brave, self-confident travelers.
